Authorised/Unauthorised Absence

Legislation now states that absence is authorised only for illness or family holiday, and the latter solely at the discretion of the Headteacher.

Parents are urged to make holidays coincide with school breaks.

In cases where this proves impossible, a letter should be sent in advance to the Form Tutor. Time off for other purposes is classed as unauthorised, even when covered by a note.

Parents are asked to ensure that visits to the doctor, dentist, clinic etc are arranged out of school time.

You can Report a School Absence online, but this must be followed up by written conformation.
